In this lesson we started to learn about the importance of
film titles because in our final production we will need to get the titles spot
on.
First of all we went on the website www.artofthetitle.com to
help find a opening series of titles which we could then learn about. From this
website i chose the titles from James Bond Skyfall. I chose these titles
because they are extremely well known and because it was such a high end
blockbuster they wouldn't have made any mistakes.
I screen shotted every title that was shown and then timed
how long they appeared for, i did this to learn about the way in which certain
actors want there name up for a certain period of time. The most common time
was 3 seconds which then lowered to 2 seconds with the production team and
makeup artists.
From this simple action I learnt about the importance of
titles and how important it is that they are all correct with no mistakes, from
the Skyfall titles I found a lot of inspiration for our own titles hopefully
being able to re create this professional look in our own production
